The IL3222E delivers at least 2V across a 100R load, which allows better data integrity over longer cable lengths. This device has an input resistance of 96K,which is eight times the RS485 unit load requirement of 12K. As a result up to 256 of these devices can be on a network while still complying with the RS485 loading specifications.
