Most of the lines we distribute can be built to a specification rather than supplied as catalogued. What can be changed depends on the part: the value, tolerance or temperature coefficient on a precision resistor, the package and pinout on a reed relay, the probe housing on a temperature sensor.

We work with design engineers while the specification is still open. We take the parameter you cannot meet to the manufacturer and come back with what is available, what it affects elsewhere in the part and the lead time.

What Can Be Changed

Electrical Values and Tolerances

• Resistance, capacitance and pressure range built to a value you specify, including values outside the standard tables.
• Tolerance to ±0.01% between resistors in a Susumu thin film network, with ratio tolerance to 0.01% on Caddock Type T1794 SIP networks from 500 Ω to 50 MΩ.
• Temperature coefficient to 5 ppm/°C, with shelf stability of 0.0025% per year, on Caddock Type TF ultra-precision film resistors.
• Relative TCR to ±1 ppm/°C between elements in the package, on Susumu thin film networks.
• Resistor networks built to your own circuit, varying element count, resistance combination and interconnection.

Package, Footprint and Termination

• Chip and package sizes outside the standard range, including SRT non-magnetic thick film chips from 0402 to 4020 at 1 Ω to 10 MΩ.
• Lead length, lead spacing and termination style, including custom-spaced radial leads on Caddock Type TF that plug directly into your existing circuit layout.
• Non-standard package sizes and pinouts on CotoClassic reed relays, with custom coil and shielding designs.
• Probe housings on Ametherm NTC thermistor assemblies in ring terminal, flag terminal, steel tube, threaded hex and threaded long tip styles.

Environment and Qualification

• Screening to your circuit requirement rather than a datasheet window, on ISOCOM optocouplers and solid state relays.
• Non-magnetic construction, on SRT thick film chip resistors.
• High-temperature construction, on Cissoid power semiconductors.
• Gold-plated contact surfaces for high load and temperature, on Isabellenhütte shunts.
• Modification of an existing design, or a new transducer built for downhole, subsea and satellite service, from Paine.
• Dedicated baseline controls, qualification and acceptance testing, on RdF temperature sensors.

Assemblies and Integration

• Sensor and probe assemblies built to your mechanical interface, from ICS-NH.
• Cable assembled to length with the plugs, markings or colours you specify, IP20 to IP6x, from Weidmüller.
• Bespoke electronics and sensor packaging where the component has to arrive as part of a module, from Metis.

Information a Custom Enquiry Needs

To quote a change we need:

• The parameters that matter, with the tolerance you can accept on each, for instance resistance and TCR, isolation voltage, pressure range or output.
• The environment the part works in: temperature range, vacuum, radiation, vibration and pressure.
• Package, footprint, lead or termination style, with anything already fixed by the board you have.
• Any qualification, screening or approval the part must carry.
• Annual quantity and the date you need first parts.

An incomplete requirement is still worth sending.
