The SM324-10E smart magnetometer from NVE is designed to provide ultra-precise magnetic field measurements while detecting magnets even over 50mm away. It utilises Tunneling Magnetoresonance (TMR) technology, which is superior compared to the traditional Hall-effect devices in terms of in-plane sensitivity, precision (±0.3% accuracy), speed (300 samples per second) and noise levels. The I2C interface works as data as well as programming interface; the programmable values include magnetic thresholds, sensor offset, temperature values, user-defined memory and other values. The digital signal also allows for application-specific calibration; the calibration coefficient is stored in internal non-volatile memory. The SM324-10E is capable of withstanding harsh environments, including those in automotive applications, due to their robust ESD protection, and is available in ultraminiature TDFN6 package (2.5×2.5mm footprint).
