Working alongside your design team from the earliest stage, we help you select the right part for the application and, where a standard part will not do, develop customised components with our manufacturing partners such as lead length, termination and package size.
The BAN-AL series from Isabellenhütte is an ISA-WELD® precision resistor: a very low-resistance busbar shunt with aluminium terminals for welding to aluminium busbars. It is offered at 25µΩ, manufactured to ±5%, with a continuous current load of up to 1095A.
The BAN-AL is a busbar shunt for battery management systems and energy storage systems. It serves as a current sensor for EBM, Electronic Battery Management, in motorcars, trucks, hybrid and high voltage electric vehicles. It is also used for current sensing in busbars and in welding equipment.
Resistance value is 25µΩ with a manufactured tolerance of ±5%. Continuous current load is rated up to 1095A and permanent power up to 30W, with both versions rated at 30W at a terminal temperature of 140°C. Internal heat resistance is 1K/W. Thermal EMF is below 1µV/K from 30°C to 60°C for ZERANIN®30. The BAN-AL carries a high pulse power rating; the datasheet gives maximum pulse energy and pulse power for continuous operation at a terminal temperature of 140°C against pulse width.
The BAN-Z-L025-AL01-5.0 is specified at 50±50ppm/K, measured from the copper edge. The BAN-Z-L025-AL02-5.0 is specified at 0±20ppm/K. Both figures are quoted from 20°C to 60°C, as the resistance against temperature curve is a non-linear function. They apply with an overlap area of 20mm by W against the connected busbars and straight current flow over the busbars. Further versions are available on request.
Both versions are 84mm long, 36mm wide and 3mm high. The AL01 weighs 43g and the AL02 41g.
The applicable temperature range is -40°C to +170°C. After 2,000h of continuous operation at nominal load, maximum resistance drift is below 0.5% at a maximum temperature of 140°C and below 1.0% at 170°C.
Yes. The BAN-AL is a shunt with weldable aluminium terminals for welding to aluminium busbars. Tensile strength is above 50MPa.
Up to 1095A continuous current load at 25µΩ, with a permanent power of up to 30W. Both versions are rated at 30W at a terminal temperature of 140°C.
Temperature coefficient. The BAN-Z-L025-AL01-5.0 is specified at 50±50ppm/K, measured from the copper edge. The BAN-Z-L025-AL02-5.0 is specified at 0±20ppm/K. Both figures are quoted from 20°C to 60°C. The two versions share the 25µΩ value, the 1K/W internal heat resistance, the 30W rating and an outline of 84mm by 36mm.
Yes. It is AEC-Q200 qualified and RoHS, with an applicable temperature range of -40°C to +170°C.
