Rhopoint Components is a member of the Rhopoint Group, specialising in the distribution of precision electronic components, sensors, connectors and enclosures.
We are an authorised partner for 27 industry-leading manufacturers from around the world offering an extensive range of stocked lines and fully customised solutions to meet your requirements.

Backed by an efficient sales and distribution operation, covering our entire product range, from our main office in Sussex, our friendly and professional team offer a high level of technical and logistical knowledge to support you throughout your customer journey.
Our office and field-based engineers located around the UK and in Europe will be pleased to offer advice and provide you with the best possible solutions for your design. Our team comprises of several qualified engineers and experienced customer service representatives.

History of Rhopoint
Rhopoint Ltd was founded in 1975 with the aim to support engineers specialising in the design of electronics and product development by offering a selection of precision resistors to the UK market.
The Rhopoint name originates from two ideas. Firstly, the Greek letter ρ (pronounced rho). This is the symbol that represent electrical resistivity; the fundamental property of a material that quantifies how strongly it resists or conducts electrical current.
Secondly the word “point”, in the context of measurement, is defined as a definite measurable position in a scale, thereby signifying precision.
Hence the company was named Rhopoint to highlight our competence in the ever-evolving world of precision resistors. Incidentally, the first product we sold in 1975 was a high-precision wire-wound resistor from General Resistance. These products still represent part of our portfolio today, over 45 years later!
In 1997, the Rhopoint Ltd name was changed to Rhopoint Components Ltd. In the years to come, Rhopoint Components Ltd branched out, founding a sister company of Rhopoint Nordic ApS in 2006 to better support our Scandinavian customers. With orders still fulfilled and managed by Rhopoint Components Ltd. here in the UK, Rhopoint Nordic ApS, offers local representation and design in support for customers in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
Later, in 2021 Rhopoint Komponenten GmbH was launched to enhance the Rhopoint Components brand within the German market place. From their warehouse in Gaukönigshofen, Germany, just a few kilometres south of Wurzburg in Bavaria, they offer the majority of the Rhopoint Components Ltd product portfolio. Since it’s founding and working closely with us here in the UK, Rhopoint Komponenten GmbH has grown and is now responsible for most European customers excluding our Scandinavian customers.
